Unfortunately the room temperature multiferroics\nmaterials are ferroelectric and antiferromagnetic hindering this direct way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our research aims to couple such room temperature\nmultiferroic antiferromagnets to double perovskites and other ferrimagnets what\nwill enable to couple the ferrimagnetic moment to the electric field. In\naddition to the magnetic exchange coupling effect the charge of the\nferroelectric will act on the magnetic layer and modify magnetic interface\neffects as the existence of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy or the Dzyaloshinskii\nMoriya interaction. This can lead to new device architectures where the\nmagnetism is manipulated by electric fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The preparation of suitable thin film samples will\nbe done Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). Structural characterization,\nnanofabrication and a broad range of measurement tools are available in the\nlab.
