ESR 7 Beatrice Bednarz

Research background:
I did my Bachelor in Physics in Freiburg, Germany and my Master in Applied Physics with a focus on Quantum Nanoscience in Delft, Netherlands. In January 2020, I started my PhD within MagnEFi in Mainz, Germany. The goal of my project is to make memory devices faster and more energy efficient. I decided to work on this topic because of the increasing contribution of the internet and electronic devices to the global CO2 emissions. At the moment, I’m working on the magneto ionic effect, where I’m trying to reversibly switch the magnetization of an antiferromagnetic material via an oxidation reaction.
