Research background:
Ever since high school, I have a strong interest in magnetic phenomena. I translated this into a specialization in spintronics during my BSc. and MSc. degrees in Applied Physics at the Eindhoven University of Technology. I started my PhD at the start-up Spin-Ion Technologies in March 2020, during which I will be working on combining He+ ion irradiation and electric fields to modify structural and magnetic properties to improve magnetic domain wall motion in films and nanodevices. Combining these powerful techniques may result in more energy-efficient data storage devices. Simultaneously, I will also be working on the development of the start-up and the commercial exploitation of the results from my research.
