Professor in Dept. of Applied Physics
University of Salamanca, Spain
Luis Lopez-Diaz is full professor in the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Salamanca. During his PhD (University of Salamanca, 1999) he spent a year at the Institute for Magnetics Research (The George Washington University). After that he was a postdoctoral Marie Curie Fellow at the Cavendish Laboratory (University of Cambridge).
He has a broad expertise in theoretical magnetism and micromagnetic modelling, a field he has been working in for over 25 years. He has worked on different topics, such as domain wall dynamics, spin-transfer oscillators, spin waves, etc. Lately his research is focused on investigating strain-induced magnetization dynamics in both ferromagnets and antiferromagnets.
